Orange Peel Pickle


Orange is a widely available fruit with lot of health benefits.
You may wonder if you know the nutrition value of this fruit
Ofcourse, the fruit's flesh part contains lot of Vitamins.
But, you know the grated orange peel called orange zest contains
many more nutrients than flesh!

You may use it as a facepack with honey for clear glowing skin!
Somebody says it can be used to clean your wooden furniture.. waw..

Now, I am sharing you a receipe for making a pickle.

Its good to eat if you find something really nice for health, isn't it?

Incredients: - 

Finely chopped orange peels - 1 Cup
Chopped Green Chilly  - 4 no.s
Dry red Chilly - 1
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp.
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 2tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Tamarind - equal to the size of a gooseberry.Mix it in water.
Asafoetida (kaayam) - a pinch
Sugar cane - 1
Salt - as required

Method to prepare:
Heat oil in a pan, let splutters the mustard seeds and dry red chilly.

Add the finely chopped orange peels & green chilly. Keep stirring continuously for few minutes.

Add red chilly powder, Turmeric powder Asafoetida in Tamarind water and pour this mixture into the half cooked orange peel.  Stir well till the orange peels are well cooked and the water reduces so that it becomes thick gravy.

Finally add sugar cane and put off the heat and keep it aside to cool.

Our tasty orange peel pickle is ready now
